As the year comes to a close its natural for us all to reflect and in doing so I’ve realised that tomorrow will be exactly six months to the day that I officially launched The PR Toolkit.

If you’d have asked me this time last year if I could have pictured myself where I am today, the answer would have been “hello no” but as the saying goes, when life gives you lemons, you simply make lemonade!

It’s been an incredible six months and given much of it has been consumed by the hard work associated with running a start-up business, I thought I’d stop for a moment and consider what has been achieved and created – so here goes:

  • On July 23, I officially launched The PR Toolkit – your one-stop-shop for DIY PR with the vision of helping small and medium sized businesses manage their own PR; something I must say became an even greater passion project as the impact of COVID-19 on small businesses became more apparent

  • Off the back of such a positive response to the business launch, I also unveiled M2 Communications, the PR consulting arm of The PR Toolkit and it’s been a wonderfully refreshing experience reconnecting with clients, getting back to basics and getting ‘back on the PR tools’ (so to speak)

  • Not long after we launched The DIY PR & Publicity Bootcamp on Udemy – a 4 module taster course to The PR & Publicity Blueprint (and a faction of the cost I might add!)

  • We’ve also had regular contributions from the media, influencers and industry professionals for our ‘Media Spotlight’, ‘Ask The Influencer’ and ‘Free Advice Friday’ columns – a very sincere thank you to all of those who have and continue to contribute

  • And lastly, I’ve been lucky enough to work with and for industry leading businesses and fearless business owners, contribute to inspiring causes that are close to my heart, educate small businesses on the power of PR and witness first-hand the resilience and tenacity of the Australian business community in overcoming adversity and enjoying success in a year that has been very challenging for all

So, with all of that I want to say a very big THANK YOU to all of those that have been a part of and supported this journey. Your belief in myself and the vision for the business is appreciated beyond words and I’m beyond excited for what lay ahead in 2021.

Wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable Christmas – especially those who are unable to be with friends and loved ones this year.

Over and out from The PR Toolkit for 2020.

All the best,

Haylie
